Mario Lopez and Courtney Mazza

We’ve seen in a number of projects since his Saved By the Bell years, most notably as the host of Extra and as a contestant on Dancing With the Stars. Now, he’ll return to reality TV in his own regular series courtesy of VH1.

Lopez’s Saved By the Baby will detail the life of Mario as a new parent (with girlfriend Courtney Mazza), as a quasi-celebrity and as an entertainer. VH1 hypes that the show goes “from the hottest parties to the dirtiest diapers.”

The series premieres on November 1 at 10:30 p.m.

Tiffani Thiessen Too Busy for Saved by the Bell

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Video,

may be starring in a new series, but that isn’t the reason why she can’t reunite with old coworkers. The actress is simply too busy with better things.

“The Saved by the Bell reunion is a good idea, but I probably have a 100-150 great ideas in front of that one,” Thiessen recently explained on FunnyorDie.com.

Saved By the Bell Reunion Buzz

- well-known to many as Zack Morris from Saved By the Bell - recently spoke about a possible reunion for the well-loved series. While chatting it up with Jimmy Fallon on late night TV, Gosselaar said he could be joining Mr. Belding, Kelly Kapowski, Jessie Spano, A.C. Slater and Lisa Turtle for a Bell reunion.

Respectively, their real names are Dennis Haskins, Tiffani Thiessen (billed on the show as Tiffani-Amber Thiessen), Elizabeth Berkley, Mario Lopez and Lark Voorhies. The only one missing from the main cast is “Screech” Powers, played by Dustin Diamond.

Gosselaar, Garofalo Team up for New Legal Drama

Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Drama, Prime Time, CBS,

Janeane GarofaloMark-Paul Gosselaar, who will always be Zach from Saved by the Bell to me, has signed on for a new CBS drama. The series, which so far is untitled, centers around Los Angeles public defenders. Gosselaar will play the lead role, as a young attorney who chooses to be a public defender rather than running for Congress. Janeane Garofalo is on board as well, although it’s less clear what her role will be. The drama comes from Numbers creator, Barry Schindel. To Gosselaar’s credit, he has had a steady career, most recently with roles on NYPD Blue and Commander in Chief. I’m not one for legal dramas, but I’m glad to see Garofalo back on television. I’d rather see her take on a comedic role, but I’ll settle for Janeane any way I can get her.

Dustin Diamond (a.k.a. “Screech”) Sex Tape Discovered

Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Comedy, Syndication, News, Rumors,

Dustin DiamondFile this under ewww… former Saved by the Bell dweeb, Screech, has a new video. And it ain’t pretty. Dustin Diamond, who played the pint size goofy kid on the ‘80s series, was in a sex tape featuring Diamond in a threesome with two women. David Hans Schmidt, an entertainment agent, has acquired the rights to the video, saying “Just when you think you have seen everything in this business, mankind has raised the bar another notch. Or lowered it.” The video, tentatively titled (I can’t believe I’m typing this) “Saved by the Smell,” is being shopped around to adult video distributors. Diamond’s manager, Roger Paul, commented that he hadn’t seen the tape, but he had “heard rumors… Dustin has been trying to escape the Screech typecast. So this may help me get more bookings.” Not sure what kind of “bookings” this will lead to, but I suppose it keeps Diamond in the public eye just a little bit longer. Diamond recently popped back into the news when he was going to lose his home and sold t-shirts to raise funds. He is also scheduled to appear on the ABC sitcom The Knights of Prosperity.
